StoryTime: Be My Valentine

It’s that time of the week again. StoryTime! If you’re new to this segment, StoryTime is a part of my blog where I relate the random experiences, mine or otherwise, that may or may not be fictional. Your job is to decide which is which.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and an even better Valentine’s Day. If you got any presents or eatable goodies, please remember to donate about 20% of your items to my charity ‘I No Wan Suffer For This Life‘. Your girl was very antisocial this weekend, work and my family taking the majority of my time. So this year’s Valentine’s Day didn’t mean a damn thing to me other than extra sleep hours. But fret not, I managed to interrogate certain rats *cough* I mean, friends of mine concerning the proceedings of their special day. One of said rats in particular (He will remain anonymous) was willing to let me share her experience (I can always count on you, my beloved bush rat). So have a read & make your deductions!

For this StoryTime, we’re going to be talking about a topic so controversial, so thought-provoking, so outlandish…..yes that’s right, I’m talking about Shopping!………Don’t give me that look okay? Shopping is a very stressful, serious business, ill-fitted for the faint of heart. So get off your high horse and have a read. Let’s see if you can make the right deduction this time round.

It’s been a while since our last StoryTime, so hopefully your sense have dulled since then and you’ll be able to make the right deduction. And what will we be talking about today? Food! Or to be more specific, the worst encounter I’ve ever had at a restaurant (if they still have the liver to call themselves a restaurant). So without further ado, let’s get into it, shall we?

On today’s edition, we have a treat. A friend of mine read my last StoryTime, loved it & then tried to put my deductive skills to the test. She told me a story, a wonderful story, concerning a guy she once dated. I failed the test, so I guess I’m not the Sherlock Holmes I thought I was. I asked & received her permission to to use her tale for this week’s StoryTime. Let’s begin!

Why ATMs Stress Nigerians

I would like to thank my twitter fam for this idea. Cee baby, your suggestions are always welcome. I don’t know why I didn’t think of this issue sooner. ATMs pose a serious problem in Naija & we need to raise more awareness of this. We could organise a pep rally, order sit-outs outside banks, you know, like how oyibos do it……..On second thought, it’s too much stress abeg. Forget I said anything. Let’s just complain about it. Much more fun.

The 6 Stages Of A Relationship

It’s always euphoric when starting a new relationship. First kisses, First dates, that sort of thing. Sometimes it goes south all too quickly & you’re left heartbroken, doomed to start the whole cycle again. If you’re lucky, you find the right person after a couple gos on the merry-go-round. Unlucky? You’re stuck in the ride for so long that you end up becoming a permanent fixture. Either way, experience is gained, and that experience has taught us to recognise the 6 stages we may go through.
